Alkaline Batteries - can be recycled at the following locations. Terminal End must be taped prior to recycling *
*Alkaline batteries no longer contain mercury and are not considered toxic by EPA. Although we encourage recycling these batteries at the above locations, residents can legally dispose of them in regular trash.
Other Batteries - (lithium ion, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride)
These batteries should never be placed in the trash. They can be properly disposed of at the following locations. Terminal ends must be taped prior to recycling.

Cooking Oil
Must be solidified prior to placing in trash with "Cooking Oil Solidifier", "Paint Hardener", kitty litter, etc.
Motor Oil
Fees may apply, we recommend you contact the business prior to drop-off.
Latex - Residents are encouraged to dry latex paint in the can by placing kitty litter, or paint hardener in the can. Stir until no liquid remains. Once completely dry, leave the lid off the can and place it in with your regular trash. If you are unable to dry your paint, up to ten cans are accepted at District sponsored household hazardous waste collections for a fee. Please click here for additional details.

It’s easiest to leave your tires at the shop when purchasing new tires. If you do find yourself with a couple of tires, the following locations will take a small number of tires for a fee when they have space available. If you have more than ten tires, you must make arrangements with a state certified tire hauler for the legal transportation of your tires to a recycling facility. A list of certified haulers can be found at the link listed here: )
